Training
Adults
Naivasha Yacht Club is offers short sailing course twice a year
for those who would like to try this wonderful sport.
Places are limited to only 16, so that all participants
receive plenty of personal attention. Instruction will be by experienced
helmsmen. The course is for adults.
The course will provide an easy introduction to
the sport of dinghy-sailing for those who would like to try it for
the first time, or for those who have done a little and would like
to improve their skills. Training will be on single-handed on Laser
dinghies, but participants will also have a chance to crew on the
two-man Fireballs as part of the course. Boats will be provided.
By the end of the course, you won't be a fully
experienced sailor, but you will have grasped the basics, and had
a lot of fun. If you want to continue to learn to sail after that,
you will be welcome to apply for membership of Naivasha Yacht Club
and come sailing regularly.
The course will consist of two full practical weekends
on Lake Naivasha and three evening sessions in Nairobi on the theory
of sailing. The weekends at Naivasha will include catering; there
will be a cash bar at Naivasha and also at the Nairobi theory sessions.
If you are interested in taking part please get
in touch with Nicolas Granier at the contacts given below. He will
then send you an application form and more details.
