To symbol a fireball red-letter letter day and encourage the fireball
fleet to attend.
NYC Racing
- Monthly Handicap and Cup racing on Sundays start at 11:00am
with a 10:00am briefing.
- Two day Cup racing events starting on Saturday will start at
2:00pm with a 1:00pm briefing.
- Monthly Handicap and Pursuit races are based on personal handicaps.
- New sailors are assigned the class average handicap which is
then adjusted on performance.
- Cup racing is based on the Portsmouth Yardstick.
- On Days when two cups are listed, the class with the largest
turnout will race for the first cup, unless it is dedicated to
a particular class, and all other classes will race for the second
cup.
- The Lessos Salver and Rex Higgins Trophy are NYC team-racing
events and are open to sailors of all abilities
- Individual sailors are invited by the Sailing Committee for
the Helmsman's Bowl and Grayburn Salver.
- On days where it is written Club Racing, the Monthly Handicap
and some cup events have been merged.
The Club racing events are:
- November 11th November Handicap & Orchardson Cup & Davis
Cup
- February 10th February Handicap & Valentine's Cup &
Hippo Plate
- March 2th March Handicap & Baradell Cup & Olympic Shield

OOD and AOD Responsibilities |

OODs' and AODs' are responsible for the racing on their day of duty. They may
be expected to provide 3 plates of tea each. If the OODs'
or AODs' are not able to attend their duty, it is their responsibility
to swap with another member.
